Bohemian-Inspired Sikh Wedding Photography in Oregon

Excited to have this Bohemian-Inspired Sikh Wedding published on Green Wedding Shoes! GWS is one of my favorite wedding inspiration blogs so its always an honor to have a feature get published with them.

This is what Karta, the bride, had to say about the wedding...

"Our community – our friends and family – are an important part of our lives. Bringing our people together to share a meal, to mark a special moment, or just to spend time is a big priority. The Sikh wedding ceremony reflects the importance of community, from the semi-circle of loved ones standing around the couple as they commit their vows, to the first act of marriage being to serve their congregation fruit. We knew right away that we wanted to take inspiration from our traditional ceremony to inform the rest of our celebration."

Need a photographer for your Sikh wedding? Check out my work and holler at me.

"The ceremony lasted a little over two hours and was filled with traditions — all the bridesmaids had stunning henna designs done on their hands and arms, and the ceremony finale was an explosive flower petal toss! Karta rocked two different gowns: the first being a traditional Sikh gown, and the second was a gorgeous lacy number from Claire Pettibone."

My favorite part was the surprise choreographed dance put on by members of the bridal party!

The couple's favorite memory from the day: "At the end of the night, Siri and I finally made it back to our gorgeous newlywed glamping tent in the woods. Having our first moment alone together, we started sharing our experiences of the day. He would go, “And then this amazing thing happened,” and then I would say, “Yes, that was incredible! Remember when this person said this sweet thing?” We were able to relive all those precious moments together before they slipped too far into the past. The sharing continued into the next day, and many of the days following as we left for our honeymoon. We savored the love and overwhelming support, the laugh-crying, the connections, and the immense significance of that moment in time."

Karta + Siri, thank you so much for the honor of having me as your photographer.

And a special thank you to the team that made it happen!
