Mt Hood Organic Farms Wedding | Nicole + Anthony

Summertime Wedding at Mt Hood Organic Farms in Oregon

Mt Hood Organic Farms completely blew me away. I had wanted to shoot at this venue for so long and finally got the chance when I was lucky enough to get hired by Nicole and Anthony. They are both amazing photographers (you can check out their work here and here) and just rad people. So today, I wanted to give a bit of insight into what is now one of my favorite wedding venues in Oregon: Mt. Hood Organic Farms.

About Mt Hood Organic Farms

This wedding venue in Oregon showcases some of the best scenery the state has to offer, with their surrounding orchards, mountains, forests and gardens. It’s set on 200 acres of land, and is an award-winning venue with the largest certified Biodynamic orchard in the country. In fact, 50 of the 200 acres is occupied by apple and pear orchards. They also make their own cider from the fruit grown on their land.

So when it comes to weddings, you can be sure that Mt Hood Organic Farms will be able to bring in the element of nature and some of the best aspects of the NW. They also have a way in which to introduce you to the various sections of ground, bit by bit, as to take in the sights and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.

Planning a Wedding at Mt Hood Organic Farms

Guests

You can have a minimum of 75 guests at your wedding, and a maximum of 200. There is enough space for 150 seated guests for an indoor ceremony, and 200 seated guests for an outside ceremony.

Style

The venue is found just off the Mt. Hood Scenic Highway, yet provides a peaceful space with historical roots and absolutely amazing architecture. Their meals are all farm-to-table, and they have indoor and outdoor space available with unobstructed views of Mt. Hood. The venue is ranch style with a bit of Marin County flair. It reminds me a lot of the beautiful older coastal homes just north of San Francisco. The indoor space is filled with beautiful natural light that shines through their large windows. The outdoor areas easily have the best views of Mt Hood I have personally ever seen.

Services

At Mt Hood Organic Farms, you can host your ceremony and your reception party. The ceremony space is often outside, while the reception is held in the Apple House and in their greenhouse. The Apple House blew me away with near floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the space, views of their pristine lawn, and gorgeous décor that brings the whole design together wonderfully.

And when it comes to catering, you can rely on their chef, Ginger Power, to provide beautifully-designed, fresh, and local meals that mimic that of a family style. Alcohol however is to be provided by the bride and groom-to-be (and can be served by their catering service, Cultivate Catering). If you are interesting in a wedding planner, they too have close connections with Cassandra Cass, who is an events coordinator. She coordinated this wedding and I was so impressed by her organization and fun energy - which are definitely things you want when hiring a wedding planner. Since she has worked this venue so many times, she can share her extensive knowledge of the venue as well as a list of local wedding vendors.

Amenities

As mentioned, you’ll have access to their wedding planning and catering services (you must make use of their in-house catering), as well as other great amenities. There’s spaces for getting ready, various outdoor areas for your ceremony and cocktail hour, and tables and chairs are provided for your reception.

Reviews

Mt Hood Organic Farms has been highly recommended by couples on WeddingWire, and has been described as a “dream venue.” Previous guests were particularly impressed with the natural surroundings, the wedding planner, Cassandra, the family-style catering, and the positive energy that helped their big day unfold effortlessly. This wedding venue has also received five stars on The Knot.

One could spend an entire afternoon meandering through the apple and pear orchards whilst being mesmerized by the mountain views. I was so excited to finally shoot at Mt Hood Organic Farms and it has now become one of my favorite venues in Oregon.
