Lummi Island Wedding | Janaki + John

"He proposed when I was in school for my master's degree. On the last of winter quarter classes, he took me out for dinner at new, tiny restaurant in our neighborhood. After a delicious meal, we decided to walk down the block to play cribbage at a nearby pub. As we were crossing the street outside the restaurant, he stopped, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was spontaneous and perfect. He later confessed that he had been carrying the ring in his pocket for two months, waiting for the just the right moment."

Janaki's mother grew every flower used in their wedding bouquets and decor. They all got together the morning of the wedding to assemble the florals and decorate the site. It is always such a beautiful thing to see the community of a couple come together to support and celebrate. My favorite parts of this wedding story: Lummi Island (because its so gorgeous and peaceful), the overnight campout for guests, the pug in pearls (SO CUTE!), Janaki's Sarah Seven dress, hilarious toasts, a danced floor that was always completely packed, the impromptu bride and groom karaoke solos, and of course, Janaki + John, whose warm, gracious, and caring hearts can't help but leave a deep impression. Thank you so much for inviting me into your wedding story.
